Key West is a place where coconuts occasionally leave volleyball-sized dents on car hoods, where hangovers are won
and lost with a mimosa in hand, and where it’s easier to find a kitchen that’ll cook your catch than a
sober reveler on Duvall Street.

It’s also a place that once, in an act of defiance, tried to secede from the Union and become the “Conch Republic”.
But perhaps most importantly, it’s a place where some of history’s most interesting and eclectic weirdos like Ernest Hemingway and Hunter S. Thompson have escaped the confines of society to live in creative anonymity amongst
fellow drunks, castaways, and ne’er-do-wells.
